The West Point Society of Rochester is now accepting applications for its Fall Cycle Leadership Award Program.  Applications are due by November 1^st 2011.

We ask that you print two copies, one of which can be circulated through the guidance department staff. The other can be photocopied and distributed to members of the Junior class who are class officers, members of student government, officers in clubs and organizations, captains of teams, and others who have demonstrated their leadership potential in other ways.

Please make as many additional copies as needed, as each school may have up to five candidates apply for the award during this period. Students are instructed to submit their application to their counsellor, and their counselor will forward an electronic copy of the student’s complete application to Mark Preston at markusma77@aol.com
 
Students should act quickly, and submit their application to their counselor as soon as possible. A counselor's review and signature is required, and all applications must be received by the Society no later than the November 1st cut off date. It is recommended that the counselors assist their students in the packet preparation, and retain a copy of all submitted documents.
 
Transcripts, Resumes, Letters of Recommendation, and typed applications are requested, as many of the applications are received in this manner. Some students have also included copies of awards and certificates, newspaper articles about themselves, and other information that documents their achievements, character and abilities. These types of additional information are welcomed, and encouraged. Such preparation generally strengthens an applicant's file.
